BUENOS AIRES RESTAURANTS LIMITED
ESG POLICIES
Buenos Aires Restaurants Limited, trading as ‘Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse’ and its sister restaurants ‘BUENASADO Argentine Steakhouse’ believes that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles are crucial to creating a resilient business model and place these matters at the core of our operations.
This Policy outlines our brands’ approach to integrating ESG into our business and the key areas on which we focus. We are committed to improving areas that we believe will make a meaningful difference to our employees, the environment and our wider society.
ENVIRONMENTAL
We are committed to becoming a net zero business by 2040 in line with the wider UK hospitality industry. Both Brands are committed to reducing its environmental impact by:
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- Conserving water and energy (considering buildings, vehicles and travel)
- Reducing waste by adopting and following the government’s waste and recycling management practices
- Using sustainable products
- Supporting sustainable practices in our supply chain
Argentinian Beef & Wine Supply
Beef and Malbec forms the core of our business.
We source all of our beef from one specific supplier in Argentina. All our cows are grass fed. The meat is aged as it is transported to the UK via ship, the lowest carbon emitting transport option available.
The majority of our wines are also grown and produced naturally in Argentina. They are also imported to the UK via ships.
We continue to work with all of our producers and suppliers in order to find ways to minimise the environmental impact of everything we do at both Brands.
SOCIAL
We are committed to creating a positive social impact by:
- Providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees
- Supporting diversity and inclusion
- Ensuring the physical and mental health and safety of all employees
- Providing flexibility to employees in managing their work-life balance
- Offering opportunities for learning and development
- Operating open two-way communication with employees
GOVERNANCE
We are committed to good corporate governance by:
- Complying with and regularly reviewing all applicable laws and regulations
- Acting with integrity and transparency
- Having clear anti-corruption, anti-slavery and anti-bribery policies
- Adhering to the highest governance and responsible business practices
HOW WE INCORPORATE ESG INTO COMPANY’S OPERATIONS:
- This policy is communicated to all employees and business stakeholders, and our approach to ESG is discussed regularly in board meetings;
- Responsibility: while every team member understands our commitment to ESG and considers these factors when making decisions, to reflect its importance across the brands, we have assigned overall responsibility to the board;
- Hiring and Working Environment: we are committed to hiring and promoting a diverse team and providing an inclusive working environment, with a DEI policy in place including inclusive hiring and parental leave;
- Impact & ESG Reporting: we undertake an annual Impact & ESG survey which measures a wide range of metrics, as well as monitoring specific Key Performance Indicators.
